Dramatic Irony: when the audience is aware of something that a character in the literary device is not aware of
Situational Irony: when what was expected to happen does not happen in some cases the exact oppposite of what was expected to happen happens
Verbal Irony: when what is said is the opposite of what is meant
Ambiguity: when the ending of a literary device is left for the reader to make up
